SHEEPDOG TRIALS ON AURORA STADIUM

Come and cheer for Australia to beat the Kiwis!! Aurora Stadium is the venue for the age-old Trans Tasman rivalry which will play out on Saturday 4th October. Commencing at 2pm will be the Top Ten Australian sheep dog triallers, who will battle for the honours of Supreme Australian Champion. This will be followed by four pre-selected representatives with their dogs from Australia and from New Zealand, who will contest a difficult obstacle course, working three sheep selected at random. Two judges will officiate, one from each country. The contest is held bi-annually in Australia and New Zealand, and currently New Zealand hold the coveted trophy, the ‘Wayleggo Cup’.

Tickets are on sale through the Princess Theatre Booking Office Theatre, and also at the gate on the day. Prices are $20 family (2 adults, 2 children), $7 adults, $5 children & pensioners.

A final highlight of the night will be that a lucky spectator will win a Polaris Hawkeye ATV packed with extras, total value $7,000, compliments of Loone’s Rural Services. The draw will be conducted at the completion of the nights’ events, and the ticket holder must be present at the time of the draw to win the prize. Competitors in the Supreme and Trans Tasman trials, and employees of Loone’s Rural Services, will not be eligible to enter the draw.
