Our AGM was a great success this year we achieved much including the appointment of many new positions and the involvement of more members in the day to day running of our sport.
2008 was a huge year for Sheepdog trialling in Tasmania, successfully running the Country's two biggest trials. The most exciting outcome is the amount of public exposure our sport received and the number of new and potential members we have attracted. It is now vital that we encourage the participation of these people. One step in the right direction is the introduction of REAL Training days, non competitive, run by individuals who have years of experience at breeding, selecting and training pups for sheepdog trialling. Each day will cover all of these areas by the individuals running them using their own methods and beliefs. Through the many Training days being held participants will get the opportunity to make a decision on which methods they feel will best suit them.
We encourage participants to attend all of these days to get a good cross section of methods. All new comers are welcome. You must be a full working member of the TWSDA, for insurance reasons. Great value considering the amount of knowledge which will be on offer!! For full details contact Group 3 Manager Bernard McGlashan.
Judges Forums will be held twice this year and we encourage EVERYONE involved with sheepdog trialling to attend. The Forums will consist of a Panel of 4 A GRADE Judges answering your questions from the floor. Each panellist will answer your questions using their interpretation of the rules in a controlled environment. Whether you are an interested spectator or a new Judge you will learn a lot from attending these Forums.
In conclusion I encourage all members to get behind our new procedures and events and spread the word. Sheepdog trialling has a lot to offer! Support our sport and let's push for new members.

Lee Jamieson
